Welcome to Old Soul Studios, We love vintage and aged items that portray a silent story about them. We create new items from salvaged items and create new stories, kind of like the makings of "An Old Soul". We love the art of making something out of nothing, making something old into something new!

Thrifting Success

Lately I have been having a lot of success thrifting. I use to call it junking, but I have been finding some great stuff this year so I believe treasure hunting is my new lingo for sure. Today I scored a wonderful old wood rocking chair, with large spring cushions and no covers, very cool and comfortable too! The ledger is over sized and full of wonderful records of a business from long ago... electric bill for one month was $3.80! The pink vanity stool couldn't be any cuter, the frilly slip skirt, mother of pearl opera glasses and old art deco style alarm clock have me tickled pink, I know I have a customer for those. A wonderful book for teaching French and a concrete fish, the fish may stay by my pond for a while... One of the things I love most about this part of my business is I never know what will show up from day to day, always evolving, always interesting. I found several other thing this weekend but I don't want to be a show off, just wanted to share a little and maybe make the phone ring from some of my customers... hope you all had a treasured filled weekend as well~Jacque

  1. A deco style alarm clock??? Be still my heart! It's absolutely not "junking"--treasure hunting is much more like it!

  2. I'm not crazy about the term 'junking' myself. I don't buy other people's junk, I buy the good stuff...and so do you! Great rocking chair.

The little pink chair is my favorite. The electric bill cracks me up! I wish mine was that low!
