Welcome to Old Soul Studios, We love vintage and aged items that portray a silent story about them. We create new items from salvaged items and create new stories, kind of like the makings of "An Old Soul". We love the art of making something out of nothing, making something old into something new!

Owl Update

Tonight we have three baby owls and a parent, I have been watching the babies all day. This happened  last year about the same time and I educated myself on the habits of them. When I first discovered the babies they were all on the ground below the tree. I have found out this is normal and they will be fine, of course the dogs are restricted to the front yard only until the babies are up on their own. The parent stayed perched in the tree near by all day, the babies were able to pull themselves up on to the tree, almost disappearing into the bark of the tree. It was amazing how well they blend in, they were aware of my presents but I stayed back and I know they knew I was not of any harm. Their bright yellow eyes are just so telling. I was very distracted by them and didn't get all my planned work done, but it was so worth it. I am grateful to have these close encounters and wonderful experiences with animals. I can't help but wonder if the adult is one of the babies from last year that has returned to my tree. "Have Respect For The Earth And All Living Creatures"

  2. Beautiful post Jacque! I too could spend all day watching the baby owls, and I would convince myself that they were related from the owls of last year. They were safe and sound last year, why not return to familiar, safe surroundings! Take care, Sue

  5. We watched the babies being fed tonight! The parent was visible today, the babies were back in the nest so we were unable to get any pictures yet. The parent was flying out tonight and getting night crawlers from the yard to feed them. We also saw a different kind of owl much larger fly out of the oaks and across the way to a large palm tree. The parent was coming down just feet away from us, I had goose bumps!~Jacque
