Welcome to Old Soul Studios, We love vintage and aged items that portray a silent story about them. We create new items from salvaged items and create new stories, kind of like the makings of "An Old Soul". We love the art of making something out of nothing, making something old into something new!

Little Bit of Rustic Charm

I am very grateful for the continuous rain over the past week, we really need it in order to avoid a drastic drought and as a gardener being able to water my garden is very important to me. I have kept myself busy with indoor task, some cleaning, organizing, creating, blogging, reading and dreaming about sunny days to come. It is my own tradition to place a few bright colored primrose by the front door to keep my spirits high when waiting for Spring. I have been looking around my home thinking about the things I have and how they have become a part of my home. I am working towards moving from here as many of you know and I have begun to think about what will go and what will not. It is interesting the material things we have in our lives, what they mean to us, where they have come from, why do they have value? I have so much abundance in my life and I am so grateful for all of it, what is funny to me is someone else may look at my life and see it so differently, the rust, the worn surfaces, the chips and scratches, the aged and used, all of these things, in their rustic charm are abundance to me. Maybe this is the same reason I don't concern myself with the grey on my temples and the smile lines on my face!

  1. hmmm....I may have to go get some primroses...
What a wonderful idea. I have a cymbidium & a heather sitting there. But I think I may need to add some primroses....
    Thank you Jacque!

  2. There is so much beauty in allowing things to age as they will. To me, this includes people. Living in Southern CA, I see way too many women walking around with altered faces and I feel sorry for them. How can we be proud of who we are if we cannot even accept ourselves? I am glad that there are others out there who understand the beauty of age.

    Hugs,
    Debbie
