Welcome to Old Soul Studios, We love vintage and aged items that portray a silent story about them. We create new items from salvaged items and create new stories, kind of like the makings of "An Old Soul". We love the art of making something out of nothing, making something old into something new!

Simple Planter

I planted violas in an old coffee tin. I find pleasure in the simple things. I remember when I was a young girl reading the "Little House on the Prairie" books I was so intrigued by how they used what they had to create and make their home special.  My mother was very much that way, not because she had to be, but because she enjoyed it. I grew up in a very creative home where all the members of my family were able to provide their own special touches to the way we lived. I could have bought a perfect flower pot at the nursery, but for me this coffee tin has so much more character.~Jacque

  1. How fun Jacque! I think we can all be reminded during this time about the creativity we have inside of us. I know that each time I have gone thru a difficult time, I discover something inside that I didn't know was there before. I think we are being forced not to just go out & buy new things. AND I think we will be pleasantly surprised at what emerges on the other side of this crash in our economy.
    Thank you for the reminder!

  2. My thoughts are ALWAYS, "different is better" and its also recycling. Like you, I find different ways to use old stuff and just love it. Much more character than something new! Take care, Sue

  3. I agree. The coffee tin adds the perfect touch to the violas!
I was a huge Little House on the Prairie fan too. I loved those books and later loved to watch the show on t.v.(-:
I have always enjoyed old items as planters. My mom had old graniteware and enamelware cookware she used as planters. I love the look of old things in the garden!
